What is hypnosis like? What can I expect?
Hypnosis is a highly focused, meditative, relaxed state of mind. You are awake and aware, yet calm and introspective. You are in full control of your body and mind, and better able to accept and implement positive suggestions. Suggestions are offered directly, indirectly, as guided visualization, or metaphor. You will remember as much of the process as you wish.
What is the difference between a hypnotherapist and a mental health therapist?
A hypnotherapist and a mental health therapist (counselor), are educated and trained in different modalities. A hypnotherapist can help you modify habits, feelings, and core beliefs, by helping you to access your subconscious mind. A counselor can help with mental health concerns, or with coping with a troubling time in your life. Although, a hypnotherapist may indeed have some counseling skills, and a counselor may have taken a weekend course in hypnosis, be advised to see the one who is fully trained and educated in the area you need/desire.
Do you take insurance?
Most insurance companies do not cover hypnosis services yet. If your insurance company will cover my services, I will issue you a receipt that you can present to them for reimbursement. I currently take Visa, Mastercard, check, and cash. Also, if your employer offers a cafeteria plan, it may cover hypnosis. I suggest you check with your HR department for details.
How much does hypnotherapy cost?
My rates are $90 per session for a pay as you go basis. If you would like to take advantage of a discount, you may pay for a package of sessions in advance. The more sessions in the package, the greater the discount. Both the Stop Smoking program, and the Test Anxiety program are packages for $295, and are not subject to the pay as you go system, or the discounted package offer. However, they are available with a $50 discount if you pay online.
How many sessions are right for me?
The number of sessions required for most topics (excluding Stop Smoking and Test Anxiety, which are 3 session packages) will be assessed during your first session. This number could range anywhere from 3 sessions to 15 sessions depending on the topics presented.
Can I get a gift certificate for a friend?
Gift certificates are available for your friends or loved ones. Simply call, and it will be handled for you over the phone is mere minutes.
What populations do you work with? I work with diverse populations. All people, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, socio-economic status, or LGBTQ identification, or disability are all respected and uplifted in my office.
